I was impressed by the friendly staff who made my sister feel comfortable during her stay, especially considering her Parkinson's. the dining service was quite slow and disorganized for our large group.

Noise levels proved particularly disruptive, with bass music blaring from the bar underneath my room throughout the night, making it tough to catch any sleep after a long drive. The walls felt thin, and I could hear conversations and arguments from neighboring rooms clearly, which didn't help the restless night. The sandwiches ordered from the bar had stale bread, and the breakfast hours were poorly communicated, resulting in a missed meal and an unplanned invoice for it when checking out.

Staying at the Lodge was a mixed experience. The accommodations were clean and spacious, and staff were generally friendly. the service in the dining area was disappointingly slow, with delayed food orders that didn’t arrive together, which left a sour note on an otherwise lovely visit.

Great food options but noisy nights!
We stayed for 2 nights and the place was nice, but wow, it was loud! Cars zooming by and a motorbike rally at night. The food in the pub was decent, and I loved the gluten-free options available. Just annoying trying to sleep with all that noise.

missingWrote a review on Aug 16outdoor areafamily roomcomfortable spacehazardous entrance
The spacious outdoor area is great for gatherings and can accommodate groups comfortably. The comfortable family room offered ample space for relaxation after a long day.
The entrance leading to the main road is quite hazardous, with traffic zipping by unexpectedly, creating a risky scenario. Upon arrival, the unclear direction to reception was a hassle, as you had to navigate through the pub area to find it. Breakfast at 9 AM is inconvenient for early risers, especially if you have plans like attending a course at that hour. The floorboards creaked significantly. every footstep echoed through the building, and you could hear conversations from adjoining rooms, which might disrupt a light sleeper's peace.

The staff were exceptionally nice, particularly Lou, Ellie, and Maggie, who all made our stay comfortable. The family room was spacious and clean, which made it easy for us to settle in.
Breakfast was not included for the price we paid.

Room was comfortable with good space for the price. Lots of activities for kids, like the playground. Service at the bar took too long for drinks and food.

We had a lovely family stay! The location was perfect, close to a playground which the kids enjoyed. The room was very clean, and the breakfast was customizable for dietary needs, which was a nice touch for our family with different preferences.
My kids wished for better soundproofing. The noise from a party kept us all awake one night, making it hard to enjoy our stay fully.

I had a great stay at Rettendon Lodge. The room was clean and tidy, with lovely decor and a nice view of the gardens. The staff were friendly and chatty, making me feel welcome right from the start. Breakfasts were a highlight with a good selection and large portions. I enjoyed the dinners as well, as the menu offered plenty of choices. I faced a few issues. The entrance to the reception was unclear and made it a bit confusing to find my way. On top of that, the noise from the corridors was bothersome at times. I could hear footsteps and conversations from neighboring rooms, which disrupted my sleep a bit. The breakfast timing was also inconvenient for me since it started later than I would have preferred.
